What is SushiSwap (SUSHI)?
SushiSwap (SUSHI) is an automated market maker, otherwise known as an AMM. AMMs are decentralized exchanges that utilize smart contracts to create markets for any particular pair of tokens. SushSwap launched in Sepetember, 2020 as a fork of the Ethereum based AMM - Uniswap. SushiSwap aims to diversify the AMM market as well as add additional features including an increase in rewards for users of the platform via SUSHI, the native token on the platform.
Users provide liquidity to the swap pools available on the SushiSwap platform and receive a percentage of the trading fees on their deposited funds in the form of SUSHI token. SUSHI also acts as a governance token on the network.
