What is Axie Infitnity (AXS)?
Axie Infinity is an NFT-based online video game developed by Vietnamese studio Sky Mavis, which uses Ethereum-based cryptocurrencies. Users engage with a digital pet community in which you buy creatures – called Axies – and use them to battle, explore and breed with other Axies. Players use Axie Infinity's native token AXS to buy and sell in game items and creatures. As such, Axie Infinity is a Play-To-Earn (P2E) game where users can generate AXS tokens from in game actions.
Items and characters in the game are stored on the Ethereum blockchain as NFTs and can be bought, sold or exchanged.
Fun Fact
The most expensive Axie sold for the equivalent of $820,000. The platform has about 2.8 million active daily users.
